The food was . I had a medium cod and shrimp basket. Im not a shrimp girly, but I definitely loved theirs. Their special tarter sauce was good, and so was the fried okra. The hush puppies were okay, but I definitely prefer more sugar them. Will definitely drop in here when I stop in Fredericksburg.

I was traveling through this area from DC to central N.C. and did a google search. Thank goodness I saw Bubba’s Shrimp Shack. I drove just slightly out of my way but oh my goodness it was 1000% worth it!!! The atmosphere was superior to fine restaurants that I’ve eaten in. The staff were amazing and very informative of all they have to offer. The manager even came over while I was eating to see if everything was fine and if there was anything they could do better. AMAZING! I have not had that at a restaurant in over 10 yrs. The food is excellent! I eat fish at restaurants from DC to Florida and Bubba’s is number #1 in my book. I love that you order and then go set down. They bring you the food with an amazing house sauce. The lunch specials are fantastic price and amount of food!! Don’t forget the tea... it is very good!! Loved the hush puppies. Bubba’s will be added to all my travel through VA every time now. Please Bubba’s consider coming to N.C. I had the most incredible dining experience here! The customer service was top-notch - friendly, attentive, and the owner made us feel right at home. And the food? Absolutely divine! Every bite was a flavor explosion that left us wanting more. The quality and presentation were impressive, to say the least. I'm so impressed with the entire experience that I'm already planning my next visit. If you haven't been here yet, do yourself a favor and book a table ASAP! The only thing is I wish there were more seating other than that! I looked forward to coming back.

Being raised in a beach town I had insanely high expectations of how steamed shrimp should be and how crab meat should taste. I was BLOWN AWAY by how amazing these guys’s food is. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. My girlfriend and I go the food quality and taste is amazing and consistent as well as the amazing customer service. The prices are amazingly affordable as well for the quality and size of a meal that you get! These guys literally kill it every single time I crave some seafood. I’ve recommended this place to friends and family and they all love it. We go almost every single weekend here and I even sometimes come during my lunch breaks that’s how good it is! I am telling you, If you want the best seafood around you gotta try Bubbas!

Ordered to go and food was made to order and very good. I order fish (whiting) and shrimp plate with coleslaw and hush puppies. Fish was a little dry. And crab cake and shrimp plate with fries and hush puppies for my husband and I didn’t hear any complaints from him. Price is fair in my opinion. Parking lot with lots of parking. Would recommend and come back to try other items.

Food is very well cooked. The shrimp and breading is nice and fresh. Cooked to perfection. The hush puppies were very good and similarly well prepared to the shrimp. Fries have Cajun seasoning. The house dip is the one to go for. Very nice Cajun blend. The place is extremely clean and well taken care of. The staff were friendly and helped me navigate the menu. Seating is alright for the venue's size. If it gets busy they will run out of seating quickly. I will definitely be returning. This is a great spot.

The fried shrimp were lightly breaded and excellent!! They have a special dipping wauce that you have to try The french fries were awesome... My friend had the fried okra and loved it! Their hush puppies are the best I’ve ever had to be honest. The service is excellent! The manager came out and spoke with us to make sure everything was OK. Excellent experience! The people who gave them a bad review below didn’t give the owner a chance to make it up to them. Give them a try and form your own opinion!

One of the best seafood meals I've had in a long time. I got a half-pound of fried scallops to go along with my large catfish meal. I normally prefer my scallops broiled, but they were only available fried. But they were fried so delicately, with a light batter, they were really good. The whole meal was fantastic, and as a big backed person, I would highly recommend coming to this place. 5 stars. I knew it was on when I tasted the green beans, and they were right.
